Job Description
Spreading awareness on Safety, Occupational Health & Disaster Management. The department also propagates that Safety is everyone’s responsibility. As Manager-Corp Safety the job holder is mainly responsible for developing and implementing Safety Management Systems in the organization through awareness programs /training sessions/audit systems and to investigate accidents along with the members of AEC to find out root causes and CAs. He circulates the CAs for the knowledge of the concerned to help in avoiding accidents in future and analyses the data received through audits and circulates the same for improvement. He is responsible for preparing / updated the Central Disaster Management plan.
Responsibility:
·
Formulation and Implementation of Safety
management system in line with ISO 45001, and TSHMS.
·
Coordination with Internal and external
stakeholders on various OHS issues, conducting SWOT analysis, with application of
TQM methodology.
·
Preparation of Annual Safety strategy plan,
covering planned improvement initiative based on thirteen elements of TSHMS,
resource planning in terms of CAPEX and OPEX budgeting etc.
·
Formulation and timely release of Annual Safety
Plan for implementation of Safety Management System
·
Preparation of Policy and Procedures for
building safety culture with participation of all levels of employees.
·
Overall monitoring of OHS Risk profile of
organization, Conducting HIRA workshop, identifying suitable risk mitigation
measures with application of Hierarchy of Risk Control.
·
Identifying the applicable OHS statutory
/Legal requirements and ensuring compliance of the same.
·
Review of Engineering design, specification of
Critical Equipment’s, structures, and preparation of Safe Operating procedures
of various activities.
·
Coordination with DOSEC and L&D Team in
strengthening and competency building of TPDDL and BA employees with Focus on
improving Behavioral Safety aspects.
·
Ensuring timely communication on OHS issues,
monitoring proper functioning of various communication and consultation
Platforms and ensuring two way communication between Top Management and Field
Workforce.
·
To investigate the cause of accidents with AEC
and coordinate with Accidents Enquiry Committee in formation of corrective
action.
·
Monitoring and follow up for effective
deployment of Corrective Action.
·
Preparation and implementation of Emergency
Preparedness and response System in line with ISO 22301 and coordination with
external agencies in its effective deployment.
·
Conducting awareness session on Emergency
Preparedness and response System with conduct of drills to evaluate its
effectiveness and apprising Management for suitable course correction.
·
Overall monitoring an ensuring proper
functioning of various Fire Safety Assets with timely maintenance and
upkeeping.
·
Ensure timely updating and deployment of
contractor safety Management, Safety Bid evaluation Process for its effective
Implementation.
·
Conducting BA Safety Webcast with Vendors and
BAs for apprising them TPDDL Safety management system requirements and new
developments.
·
Planning and monitoring for PPEs standard,
availability in store in coordination with respective internal and externa
stakeholders.
·
Overall monitoring of Various Safety Initiatives
in coordination with PE, Contract, F&A and Respective dept.
·
Monitoring and Implementation of DM and PM
activities as per TQM action plan.
·
Coordination with TPC Safety on various Safety Related issues, Safety
Performance, training, and competency building etc.
·
Representing Tata Power -DDL on various national
and international platforms with learning and sharing of best safety Practices.
·
Conducting OHS audits and analyzing observation
with preparation of suitable action plan.
·
Focused approach and Digitization and
involvement of AI and Machine learning in improving overall safety performance.
·
To analyze the performance of various groups
regarding safety audits and sharing analysis data with the dept. concerned for
improvement of their processes (if any).
·
To design, implement and monitor various safety
awareness initiatives for employees like Town Hall Meetings, Mega Seekh
Sessions & LQSC and public.
·
To ensure sending the MIS/reports related to
Corp Safety activities to the concerned authorities.
·
To work towards building safety driven culture
through safety observations, Participation in Safety week, Safety drives, Local
Quality & Safety Committee (as applicable)
etc.
·
Ensure active participation in sustainability
related Projects and Driving the same for improving safety performance of
organization.
·
Interacts with respective functions/dept/group
to disseminate knowledge of methods/process related to safety compliance.
·
Coordination in execution of various management
system audits like TBEM, IMS, ISMS, BCMS, TQM, etc.
·
Coordination with Field Safety Teams in
execution and monitoring deployment of various safety Programs.
·
Ensuring timely release of theme Based Safety
drives with compilation, analysis and sharing of drive outcome.
·
Overall Management of various communication and
consultation platforms like Monthly Safety Briefing meeting , Apex safety
Committee meeting , T&D Webcast , Incident review meeting, BA Webcast ,
Town hall meeting , Corp Safety and CSI review etc.
·
To formulate BCDMP Plan/Locational DMP and
carrying out mock drills to check the readiness.
· To perform any other work allocated by Top Management based on Organization requirements.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
· B.
Tech (Electrical), preferably certificate course in Industrial safety with a minimum
5 years of experience.
· Must possess
strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
· Thorough knowledge of departmental works, procedures, and practices, DERC norms, various environmental laws and electricity rules and other statutory frugality process.
Skills /Competencies Required: B. Tech (Electrical), preferably certificate course in Industrial safety, O&M Department of Electrical Distribution, strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills, DERC norms, various environmental laws and electricity rules and other statutory frugality process.
