Tata Power-DDL Issues Advisory against fraudulent sale of fake LED Bulbs on Tata Power’s NameDate : Jan 21, 2021

- Tata Power does not manufacture any electrical equipment, including LED Bulbs

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power distribution company serving a populace of 7 million in North and North-West Delhi, has issued an advisory against fraudulent selling of LED Bulbs on Tata Power’s Name.

The advisory has been issued in reference to an incident today, early morning near Green Park Metro Station, Gate No. 3 wherein an unidentified person was sighted selling fake labelled LED Bulbs illegally under Tata Power’s Name.

The person was observed and questioned by an employee of the company who also captured the entire activity on his phone, post which the person fled from the incident and is still absconding. The person was seen selling a fake pack of 4 LED Bulbs priced at Rs. 100. Tata Power-DDL has filed a police complaint and will be initiating legal action against the fraudster for this nefarious act.

Tata Power-DDL has launched various schemes over the years, in collaboration with many other respectable entities selling LED bulbs to its consumers at a discounted rate to promote energy conservation and sustainable living. But the products recovered from the incident are fake.

Commenting on the incident, Tata Power-DDL Spokesperson said, “Tata Power-DDL is keeping a close tab on such fraudsters including malpractices of manufacturing fake electrical equipment. We have initiated legal action against the culprits. We firmly believe and follow that such unscrupulous activities should be dealt with the highest level of strictness. We request our consumers to inform our call center on 19124 in case they come across such fake products as this not only tarnishes the company’s name but also hampers consumer safety.”
