Domestic Connection

Connections under this category are provided for consumers as specified below:

Residential consumers

Hostels of recognized/aided institutions of Municipal Corporation of Delhi or Govt. of the NCT of Delhi.

Staircase lighting in residential flats separately metered.

Compound lighting, lifts and water pumps etc., for drinking water supply and firefighting equipment in

residential complexes.

In CGHS, for bonafide use of lighting/fan and power, subject to the provision that the supply is at single

delivery point for combined lighting/fan and power.

Dispensary/Hospitals/Public Libraries/School/College/Working Women's Hostel/Orphanage/Charitable

homes run

by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the Government of the NCT of Delhi.

Small Health Centers approved by the Department of Health, Government of NCT of Delhi for providing

Charitable Services only.

Recognized Centers for welfare of blind, deaf and dumb, spastic children, physically handicapped persons,

shelter homes

for homeless people approved by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Places of worship.

Cheshire homes/orphanage.

Electric crematoriums.

Professionals like architects, engineers, doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants, company secretaries,

cost and work accountants, town planner, media professionals and documentary film makers, may utilize

the domestic connection at their residence, for carrying out their professional activities, provided the are

used for professional activity does not exceed the area as specified in master plan of

Delhi and local bye laws which at present is 50 % of the covered area.

1.       Available for loads up to 21 KW, to Farm Houses for bonafide domestic self use and bounded farmhouse having

minimum 50% of the land for agriculture/vegetable cultivation. 

2.       Consumers running small commercial establishments from their households in JJ Clusters if the total consumption

in a month does not exceed 200 units.

3.       Cattle/Dairy Farm/Dhobi Ghat with total consumption up to 200 units/month and connected load up to 2 KW.

Non – Domestic (Commercial)

Low Tension (NDLT-I)

Connections under this category are provided for consumers having load up to 100 kW for lighting, fan

and heating/cooling power appliances in all non-domestic establishments as defined below:

Hostels (other than those recognized/aided institutions of Municipal Corporation of Delhi or Govt. of the NCT of Delhi)

Schools/colleges (Other than those run by Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the Government of NCT Delhi)

Auditoriums

Hospitals, nursing homes/diagnostic centers other than those run by Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the Govt.

of NCT of Delhi.

Railways (other than traction)

Hotels and restaurants

Cinemas

Banks

Petrol pumps

All other establishments, i.e., shops, chemists, tailors, washing, dyeing etc. which do not come under the Factories Act.

Cattle farms, fisheries, piggeries, poultry farms, floriculture, horticulture, plant nursery

Farm houses being used for commercial activity

DMRC for its commercial activities other than traction.

Ice-cream parlors and

Any other category of commercial consumers not specified/covered in any other category in this Section

Non- Domestic High Tension – I on 11 KV single delivery point NDHT

1.       Available to commercial complexes having load more than 100 KW/ 108 KVA for group of consumers for non-domestic use.

2.       Available to consumers having load more than 100 KW/ 108 KVA in non-domestic establishments including DDA/MCD and

supply to DMRC for their ongoing construction projects etc and for commercial purposes other than railway traction.

Industrial

Small Industrial Power (SIP)

Such connections are provided to Industrial consumers with load up to 200 KW/215 KVA including for

lighting, heating and cooling load.

 Industrial Power (SIP) on 11 KV Single Delivery Point for group of SIP consumers

On single delivery point for group of SIP consumers provided load of any individual consumer does not exceed 100 KW/108 KVA

Large Industrial Power

Such connections are provided to large industrial consumers having load above 100 kW including for lighting, heating and cooling load.

Agriculture Connection:

Up to 10 KW connections under Agriculture Category are provided for tube wells for irrigation,

threshing and kutti-cutting in conjunction with pumping load for irrigation purposes and for lighting load for bonafide use in Kothra.

Mushroom cultivation

Connections up to 100 KW under this category are provided for mushroom growing/cultivation.

Street lighting

Connections under this category are provided to all street lighting consumers including Municipal

Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority, Public Works Department/Central Public Works Department/Delhi

State Industrial Development Corporation/Military Engineering Service/Co-operative Group Housing Societies and

the Slums Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi etc.

Signal and Blinkers

Such connections are provided for traffic signals and blinkers of Traffic Police

Railway Traction

Connections under this category are provided for railway traction other than Delhi Metro Rail

Corporation for connected load above 100 kW.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

Connections under this category are provided for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for its traction and operational requirements.
