Tata Power-DDL consumers successfully managed to save 15 MW today during the Earth Hour 2020Date : Mar 28, 2020


New Delhi, March 28, 2020:
The power demand has fallen sharply in the company’s distribution area in North Delhi  over the last few days owing to the lockdown across the city. The average peak demand during this time of the year is around 1400 MW, which is down by almost 50% to 670 - 680 MW during the last few days as the industrial and commercial establishments are completely shut under the lockdown.

Earth Hour is one of the largest global grassroots campaign for raising awareness on climate change issues supported by World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Earth Hour was observed worldwide for one hour from 8.30 to 9.30 pm wherein the consumers switched off their electrical appliances and non-essential lighting. The company sensitized its consumers by extensively reaching out through SMS’s and electronic direct mailers.The consumers were urged to stay home and support the cause by Switching Off Today to Lighten Up Tomorrow and to also maintain social distancing amidst Corona virus crisis.
