Tata Power-DDL Expects Peak Demand to Touch 2150 MW in Summers; Makes Prior Arrangements Through Tie-ups and Banking ArrangementsDate : Mar 15, 2019

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), the power utility that supplies electricity in North Delhi, has estimated a peak electricity demand of about 2,150 MW this summer.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply during summers, Tata Power-DDL had exported power up to 200 MW  to the states of Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh during winter of 2018-19 under banking arrangements. The same power shall now be returned by these states to Tata Power-DDL in the summer month of 2019.

We have always strived for providing better services to our consumers. We are expecting the peak power demand to reach 2150 MW inour area this summer. To meet this demand, we have long-term tie-ups amounting to around 2000 MW and other arrangements , up to 500 MW including Renewable power, through power import banking/ bilateral imports with other states to ensure regular supply & to take care of any contingency requirements, saidMr. Sanjay Banga, CEO of Tata Power-DDL.
