Tata Power-DDL empowers its senior citizen consumers, engages with them digitally during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemicDate : Jun 26, 2020

In a first of its kind initiative by any utility, Tata Power-DDL, in its endeavour to stay connected with its consumers while complying with the social distancing norms, organised a virtual Senior Citizen Meet- ‘E- SAMMAN’.

SAMMAN is one of Tata Power-DDL’s flagship customer engagement events designed for the senior citizens where doorstep services are provided. Senior citizens require extra attention and care during these testing times as they are more vulnerable to contacting the virus, so the company started providing all the services digitally to them.

The senior citizens were informed about the program and how to connect for the meeting over phone by Tata Power-DDL’s customer care executives.

During this program, the participants were briefed about Tata Power-DDL’s initiatives for maintaining uninterrupted power supply during this summer season and the digital services launched for ensuring customer convenience like digital payments, self-meter reading, bills on WhatsApp, missed call service for No Power Supply et al. 

Important updates related to DERC’s orders and Tata Power-DDL’s initiatives amid Covid-19 were also shared with the consumers. Sessions on yoga and sharing safety tips with the customers were among other attractions of the event.      

Several senior citizens consumers across all administrative  districts of Tata Power-DDL’s operational area joined the event through virtual mode. The initiative was highly appreciated by them. 

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, TATA Power-DDL said, “We are committed towards ensuring the safety and convenience of our consumers, especially in these testing times. We urge all our consumers, especially senior citizens, to connect with us through our digital platforms for services and stay indoors so that we all can combat this crisis.”


About SAMMAN:

Under this initiative, senior citizen consumers are enrolled in the ‘Golden Age Club’ and provided special services like doorstep documentation, priority dealing at customer care centers, complaint resolution, priority call support, online bill payment assistance, SMS Services etc.
