Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power distribution company serving a populace of 7 million in the national capital, is launching ‘Samajhdari Ki Choice’ campaign on the occasion of ‘National Consumer Day’ to encourage its consumers to opt for e-bills by saying no to paper bills. The company will run the campaign from 24th December 2020 to 30th January 2021 to encourage their consumers to switch to e-bills as a New Year Resolution.

‘Samajhdari Ki Choice’ is an umbrella campaign under which Tata Power-DDL aims to educate its consumers about sustainable practices, energy conservation methods, benefits of smart meters, roof top solar installations, digital service options etc.

As per a rough estimate, if 17 lakh registered consumers opt for e-bills, nearly 2 crore A4 size sheets can be saved annually, preventing 2500 trees from falling.

The Stop Paper Bill initiative aims at enhancing the overall consumer experience and engagement; leading to a drastic reduction in paper bill usage, hence, saving hundreds of trees. Consumers can activate their e-bill service and share their consent to opt for ‘Stop Paper Bills’ option by simply filling up a form on company’s website.

Alternatively, consumers can type BILL<SPACE><CA Number> and send a WhatsApp message on 7303482071. Consumers calling from Delhi can dial 19124 and while those calling from outside Delhi can reach the company on 1800-208-9124 to avail the facility. 

Usage of e-bill will further strengthen the security for the consumers by reducing the risk of lost statement and identity fraud, thereby curbing third party involvement. Moreover, e-bills will eliminate chances of virus spread, ensuring contact less delivery and safety of the consumers.

Early adopters will also be rewarded with attractive prizes like TV, Mobile Phone and Gift Vouchers, based on the quarterly lucky draw. 1,50,000 consumers have already opted for this facility.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution has been encouraging its consumers to opt for digital mode of transactions / services as a part of its Green Zone Initiative. Under this, ‘Green Zone’ camps are set up to facilitate consumers to download the TPDDL Connect Mobile App and spread awareness about its various features. These camps have been organised virtually this year and several hundred consumers have been sensitised so far.
