Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, a pioneering power utility supplying electricity to a populace of over 7 million in North Delhi, won the ‘Safety Excellence Award’ for effectively implementing best practices in the field of occupational health and safety by the Greentech Foundation during the 21st Greentech Safety Award and Summit 2023. The ceremony took place on May 29–30, 2023, at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi.
Tata Power-DDL adheres to the highest safety standards and is committed to providing a safe working place and environment to its employees, and customers as part of its business philosophy and values. Tata Power-DDL has implemented several safety related innovative solutions such as best in class PPEs and tools, creating De-centralized Practice Yards, Virtual Reality training modules on safe working and online safety training modules for engineers and business associate employees. Recently, a dedicated YouTube channel is also launched with an intent to have a repository of videos to promote a safe working culture for all.
Tata Power-DDL received this recognition after a comprehensive screening process. The award was presented to Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, AGM, Corp. Safety, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, by Hon’ble Sh. Deepak Mishra, Former Chief Justice of India, Sh. Suresh Prabhu, Former Railway Minister of India, and Sh. R. Sathiyasyndaram, IPS Add. Commissioner, Delhi Traffic Police, during a coveted award ceremony.
