TATA Power-DDL Felicitates Winning Students of 'Bijli Bachao Star Banjao' ContestDate : Apr 26, 2019

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), the pioneer power utility providing electricity to a populace of over 70 lakhs in Delhi, felicitated the winning students of its Pan-India Contest on Energy Conservation 'Bijli Bachao Star Banjao'.

The campaign was launched with the objective of igniting young minds to save and make optimal use of electricity and to become a proud contributor in supporting the 'Power for All' initiative of the Govt. of India by being a harbinger of change.

Mr. Sanjay Banga, CEO, TATA Power-DDL and Mr. Sushil Kumar Srivastava, Chief-HR and Admin presented the winners with certificates, gift cards and mementos.

"I congratulate the winners and appreciate their efforts for sharing interesting ideas on Energy Conservation. I am sure these little champs will further promote the judicious use of electricity for a sustainable living cause among their friends and families" said Mr. Sanjay Banga, CEO Tata Power-DDL at the prize distribution ceremony.

The campaign received an overwhelming response with over 1100 entries from across the country, out of which 15 best entries were chosen (5 winners were given prizes worth Rs. 5000 each; 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 2500 were also given).

The campaign was being run in association with the 'Club Enerji' program of Tata Power. Club Enerji is an Energy & Resource Conservation Club that sensitises school children on the importance of Energy Conservation. The club comprises of over 900 schools with 6.4 lakh energy champions and 3.4 lakh energy ambassadors and has sensitized more than 20 million citizens till date. The program has helped save over 25 Million Units of power till date. The club also encompasses 2017 mini energy clubs.
